Version 1.0 — in force from 7 October 2026
Read this before you buy anything on Viroan. It says what this platform is, what it is not, and the ways you can lose money using what you buy here. If a part of it is unclear, do not buy until it is.
1. What you buy, and who does the trading
Viroan is a marketplace for trading software. You buy a licence to a product written by an independent creator, and you run that product yourself, on your own exchange or broker account.
Viroan does not trade for you. We do not ask for your exchange or broker credentials, we do not hold your money, and we never place an order on your behalf. Nothing you buy here starts by itself: until you install the software, give it access to your own account and start it, nothing happens.
The other half of that is the part people skip. Once it is running, it runs on your machine, under your control and outside ours. Nobody at Viroan can pause it, close a position, undo a trade or recover a loss for you. Stopping it is your decision and your action.
2. Viroan is not a regulated firm, and nothing here is advice
Viroan is not authorised or supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF), by ESMA, or by any other competent authority, and we do not present ourselves as if we were. We sell software licences. We do not provide investment services.
Because of that, no investor compensation scheme and no deposit guarantee scheme covers what you buy here or what you do with it.
Nothing on this platform is investment advice or a personal recommendation. That includes the catalogue and the order it is shown in, certificates, Gate Scores, ratings, editorial selections and promotions. Some creators pay for placement; paid placement is labelled PROMOTED wherever it appears, it buys position only, and it says nothing about a product’s quality or its verification.
3. You can lose money, including all of it
Trading carries the risk of loss. Automated trading carries it at machine speed, at any hour, whether or not you are watching. A product can place many losing trades in a short time: because the market moved, because the conditions it was built for stopped holding, or because of a fault.
Depending on the broker you use and the account you open with them, a product may trade with leverage, may use derivatives, and may sell short. Leverage multiplies a loss as readily as a gain, and with some brokers — particularly outside the EU — a loss can exceed the money you deposited and leave you owing more.
Do not commit money you cannot afford to lose entirely, and do not commit money you will need for something else.
4. What a certificate means
A certificate records that one specific build of one specific product went through Viroan’s verification procedure on a specific date, and what that procedure found. The steps are a formal check of the submission and the creator’s identity, a static scan of the source code, a backtest on market data we hold, a robustness and Monte-Carlo battery, scoring against the limits the creator declared about their own product, and a final decision by a human auditor.
That is all a certificate is. It is not a prediction, not an endorsement, not a recommendation, and not a rating of quality or safety. The Gate Score describes how the build behaved under those tests against its own declaration. It is not an investment rating, it forecasts nothing, and a higher number does not mean a product will make you money.
The thresholds a score is measured against are set by Viroan and are revised as evidence accumulates, so scores are not comparable across time. Read a score as a description of what was measured, not as a grade.
A certificate names the instruments and timeframes that were actually tested, and how many of the tested combinations passed. Read that literally: “passed 2 of 3 tested” means one of them failed, and anything the certificate does not name was not tested by us at all.
5. What verification does not cover
- Future performance. It was not forecast, and it cannot be verified.
- How a product behaves in market conditions it was not tested in.
- Your machine, your settings, your parameters, and how you deploy the product.
- Your broker or exchange: spreads, commissions, swaps, slippage, execution quality and the account type you chose. Your results will differ from the tested ones for this reason alone.
- Anything the creator changed after the date on the certificate. A change invalidates the certified status until the product is verified again.
6. Performance figures are backtests, not trading
Performance figures shown on this platform come from backtests — simulations of how a build would have behaved on historical market data we hold. They are not the record of a live trading account, and they are not what any buyer earned.
A backtest is run against a past that is already known, and the costs in it are modelled rather than charged. Your broker’s real spreads, commissions, swaps and slippage will differ, and in practice they make real results worse than the simulation. A backtest is the best evidence we can produce before a product is sold. It is still not evidence of what will happen next.
7. The software was written by someone else
Products are written by independent creators, not by Viroan. We read and scan the source before a product may be listed, and for some delivery formats we compile it ourselves so that what you run is what was reviewed. A review reduces risk. It cannot prove that software is free of defects.
A defect can send an order that should not have been sent, miss an exit that should have been taken, or behave in a way neither the creator nor we anticipated, and it can cost you money for reasons that have nothing to do with the strategy.
Some products are delivered compiled, so you cannot read their code yourself. For those, our scan is the only code review that exists.
8. Your configuration is your risk
Every product has settings, and the settings that were tested are the ones named on the certificate. Change the position size, the risk per trade, the instrument, the timeframe or the leverage, and you are running something we did not test.
Position size is the decision that decides the outcome most often. A strategy that works can still take an account to zero if it is sized too large for that account.
Give any trading software — ours, anyone’s — the permissions it needs and no more. Trading permission, yes. Withdrawal permission, never. No product sold here, and no part of Viroan, ever needs the right to move money out of your account. If anything asks for it, stop, and report it to us.
9. Your broker or exchange is a separate risk
Your money sits with your broker or exchange, not with Viroan. If that venue fails, freezes withdrawals, halts trading, delists an instrument, changes its terms or is compromised, that is between you and them, and it can cost you the account no matter how well the software behaved.
Venues also go down, lag, requote, gap over weekends, widen spreads around news, and close positions on margin. Any of these can turn a trade the product handled correctly into a loss.
If you run a product on a funded or proprietary-trading account, that firm’s own rules apply on top of everything above. A drawdown the software treats as ordinary can breach them and close your account.
10. Running it is an operation you have to run
The machine has to stay on, connected, and up to date. A crash, a reboot, a lost connection or a lapsed key can leave a position open with nothing managing it. Updates from the creator can change how a product behaves.
Support is whatever the product page says it is, and it comes from the creator. Response times are not guaranteed, and neither is a fix.
11. A licence ends
A licence is either a licence for a number of months, which ends when those months run out unless you opted in to automatic renewal at checkout and have not cancelled it, or a Lifetime licence, as stated on the product page. A Lifetime licence has no end date of its own: you pay once, and the activation key is renewed free every 3 months for as long as Viroan operates the licensing service; a Lifetime licence’s cTrader key lasts three months and is renewed at no charge in your library, and a MetaTrader product’s licence is likewise valid for three months and is renewed automatically, at no charge, each time it checks in with our licensing server and keeps working for up to 72 hours without a connection. A new cTrader key appears in your library 14 days before the current one expires and we notify you; the current key keeps working until its expiry. Where a product needs an activation key, that key is time-limited: when it expires, the software stops. A key is issued to you, and depending on the product, running it on a second machine may be flagged for review.
A listing can also be withdrawn — by the creator, or by us after moderation or a failed re-check. Certificates are re-checked monthly after listing, and a re-check can change what a certificate says after you have bought. A withdrawn product is no longer offered, and its creator may stop developing it. Your licence continues, and Viroan, as the seller, remains responsible for keeping what you bought in conformity with the contract, including the updates that requires (clause 8 of the Terms of Service).
12. Tax is yours
Profit you make may be taxable where you live, and reporting it and paying it are your responsibility. Viroan does not give tax advice and does not file anything on your behalf.
13. What Viroan is responsible for
We are responsible for our own functions: the verification we say we performed, the information we publish about a product, the mechanisms we say we operate, and, as the seller, the conformity of what you bought with the contract. We are not responsible for the outcome of your trading, and nothing on this platform — no certificate, no score, no figure — should be read as us taking that on.
If a listing claims something this document contradicts — a guaranteed return, a risk-free strategy, a promise about profit — the listing is wrong. Report it to us.
